Due to quarantine, eSports has become the only way to keep fans engaged and compete.
Although the season has been suspended due todue to the coronavirus pandemic, drivers, like other athletes, want to continue competing with other teams. Therefore, from today, some Formula 1 pilots will begin to take part in the virtual Grand Prix series.
For this they will use the F1 Esports gameVirtual Grand Prix 2019 version for PC. First, the pilots will compete on the virtual track of Bahrain, which was supposed to be the second stagecurrent season. Although this race will last 28 circles, half as much as usual, but, as before, it will be preceded by a qualification session to determine the starting positions. The virtual race will be broadcast on Formula 1 channels on YouTube, Twitch and Facebook.
Competitions in this form will take place asat least until May, but they will be exclusively entertaining in nature and will not affect the rating. Between stages, demonstration races will also be held in which fans will have the opportunity to compete with real pilots in cyberspace.
