Wallet provider MetaMask has issued a warning: scammers are spreading false rumors about an upcoming token airdrop on March 31st.
The MetaMask team stated that they have no plansany public actions on the specified date, calling on its clients to be vigilant when visiting dubious sites and not to believe the promises of attackers.
“These rumors are not only false, but also dangerous. They create opportunities for scammers and phishers,” MetaMask representatives warned.
According to network observers, the surgeThe activity of scammers could have been influenced by a report from the ETHDenver 2023 crypto festival, where ConsenSys CEO Joseph Lubin gave an extensive interview. In a conversation with reporters, Lubin said that his company is now “trying to decentralize MetaMask” and has plans for “wide distribution of the platform token.”
