The largest batch of mining equipment was delivered to Russia

In December 2020, data center operator BitRiver imported a shipment of more than 20 thousand ASIC miners to Russia from Asiawith a total capacity of about 70 MW, Kommersant reports.

All equipment belongs to a foreign company whose name has not been disclosed. A separate hangar was launched especially for it as a separate Tier-III data center.

The exact number and specification of the imported equipment in BitRiver was also not disclosed. It is known that among the miners received were WhatsMiner M32 devices from MicroBT.

According to the head of the data center Six-NinesSergey Troshin, most likely, purchased modern BTC ASICs. Their market price is 2–3 thousand dollars, that is, the amount of a 70 MW transaction can reach 40–60 million dollars.

BitRiver called this delivery the largest one-time deal in mining history.

BitRiver previously announced a partnership with aluminum and hydroelectric power producer En + Group to create a cryptocurrency mining venture.
