The head of cyber police calls for legalizing the circulation of cryptocurrencies

In Ukraine, it is necessary first of all to legitimize the circulation of digital currencies, says the head of the department cyber police general Sergey Demedyuk.

Given current trends in distributiondigital currencies, Demedyuk believes that in the near future the financial sector will be able to work in cyberspace with electronic currencies. Therefore, according to him, today it is necessary to develop a clear legislative framework for the circulation of digital currency, and become a competitive and friendly jurisdiction for the development of digital currency space.

According to him, the issues of legalization and circulation of cryptocurrencies in the country will be dealt with by relevant government departments and representatives of the crypto industry.

The popularity of cryptocurrencies in the country is likely to continue to grow. According to a survey conducted last year among Ukrainians, 13% of respondents admitted that they own digital coins.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has already embarked on a cryptocurrency legalization plan. A new bill and amendments to the tax code of the country should be ready by the end of this year.

Recall that recently, the parliamentary group Blockchain4Ukraine adopted a special program to legalize the Ukrainian cryptocurrency market.
