The German government will spend $1.2 million to develop an online game in the metaverse

German startup Flying Sheep Studios announced that it has raised $1.2 million in government funding. The funds will be used to create the Star Life game in the virtual universe.

Thanks to government funding, the company hiredmore manpower, which allowed it to speed up the development of the game. Managing Director of Flying Sheep Studios (Thomas Roessig) stated that such support is important for the development of the metaverse and the blockchain video game industry. 

“The funding demonstrates that the federal budget is working as intended, promoting the development of advanced technical know-how made in Germany,” says the businessman.

Star Life will be focused on cooperation and communication, the creators promise. Players will participate in the events of the metaverse. Which one exactly has not yet been announced.

They are going to integrate elements of blockchain and NFT into the game. The developers promise that Star Life will be a game distributed according to the free-to-play model.

Recently, the Danish giant Lego presented plans to create a virtual world with the support of Epic Games, one of the influential companies in the gaming industry, creator of the online game Fortnite. 

Earlier in March it became known that the release of NFTs inzombie apocalypse metaverse, Undeads has attracted major collectors of non-fungible tokens, including n0b0dy.eth. The release of the Web3 game is scheduled for the end of the year.
