The European Union will issue grants for the development of blockchain solutions for the defense industry

The European Commission launched the European tenderDefense Industrial Development Program (EDIDP). The list of possible proposals for participation in the tender includes 42 items. The winning proposals will receive funds from the budgetfunds in the amount of €254 million issued in the form of grants by the European Commission to continue development of defense products or services. Proposals submitted are expected to include research or projects that will adapt technologies for defense purposes. This should subsequently lead to products that are low cost and cost effective for military use.

Bids are accepted from April 15 to December 1, 2020. However, tender dates may be extended in case of problems caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
