The court ordered Sberbank to unblock the cards of a resident of the Russian Federation who traded in cryptocurrency

Sverdlovsk Regional Court ordered Sberbankunblock the bank cards of a Revda resident, which were blocked by the bank on suspicion of money laundering. After the cards were blocked, Pavel R. provided the bank with documents confirming that all transactions with his cards were carried out within the framework of digital asset trading on cryptocurrency exchanges.

Despite the confirmation of operations, Sberbank did notunblocked the accounts of the Revdian and did not give any clarification on the situation. As a result, the bank's client appealed to the Revda City Court, which left his claim without consideration.

After that, Paul R.filed an appeal to the Sverdlovsk Regional Court, which ruled that the bank had no reason to maintain the blocking of bank cards and limit the provision of remote banking services. Also, 5 thousand rubles were collected from Sberbank as reimbursement of legal costs.

The decision of the Sverdlovsk Regional Court may becomeprecedent and further used in other similar litigation, the founder of the legal agency CARTESIUS Ignat Likhunov, who represented the interests of the plaintiff in court, told RBC-Crypto. According to him, unblocking the cards of a Revda resident is one of the most important court decisions over the past few years.
