The developers of the large cryptocurrency project Cosmos have published a proposal to introduce a new security system for the main network of the project called Hub.
As part of the new security systemdecentralized applications running on additional Cosmos networks will be able to rely on mainnet validators. That is, the security of projects based on additional networks will be ensured by the main blockchain of the project. And this is the largest network in the Cosmos ecosystem.
The developers will also change the functionalityCosmos Hub's own cryptocurrency called ATOM. The new ATOM 2.0 coin will be used as a token to power the Cosmos Hub infrastructure platform.
Let us remind you that in mid-October the developersCosmos announced the discovery of a critical vulnerability in the IBC internetworking protocol. They have strengthened their code security checks after the BSC Token Hub bridge was hacked. As Cosmos co-founder Ethan Buchman said, “a critical vulnerability was discovered that affects all Cosmos networks with IBC support, of any version.”
