The Cardano network has recovered from a massive outage

This weekend, the Cardano blockchain experienced a massive outage - half of the nodes suddenly disconnected from theNow the work has been restored, but the reasons are still unknown.

However, the blockchain recovered on its own, without external interference ― Cardano nodes automatically reconnected, and the consensus mechanism worked as intended by the developers.Production of blocks continued, although their production became noticeably slower.

"Last night during a network anomalyThe Cardano blockchain continued to work. We recorded a short period of degradation. Most of the affected nodes recovered safely and did not require a network restart. It appears that this was caused by a temporary anomaly that caused some nodes to disconnect from the network and others to restart,” said DIGI staking pool owner Rick McCracken.

At the time of publication, the cause of the anomaly was not determined. The developers are investigating the situation and adding special logging procedures.

It was previously reported that the total volume of assets blocked in the Cardano network increased by 30% in the first ten days of January.
