Tesla store began selling some goods for Dogecoin

Tesla has added Dogecoin as a payment method for some items in its store.

Starting Friday, everyone can purchase somethe company's products for both US dollars and cryptocurrency. In particular, the Cyberquad children's ATV sells for 12,020 DOGE (about $2,296), the Cybertruck electric pickup whistle costs 300 DOGE ($57), and the Giga Texas belt buckle – 835 DOGE ($155.5).

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said back in December 2021 that he plans to add such a payment method and see what happens. Last spring, the company also begansell your electric cars for bitcoin, butthe idea was soon abandoned due to growing criticism of the first cryptocurrency's high energy consumption and potentially harmful impact on the environment.

However, Tesla itself still owns 48,00 BTC worth over $2 billion.

Since the company's store began to acceptDogecoin, the DOGE rate rose by 11.35%, despite the general decline in the digital currency market. At the time of publication, the coin holds the eleventh position in the market capitalization ranking with a total value of $25.78 billion.
