State banks of China began to open wallets for the digital yuan to everyone

Six Chinese state-owned banks have begun accepting applications for the activation of e-wallets for the digital yuan from all interested citizens.

Now residents of Beijing and Shanghai can contactany of the country's largest financial institutions to gain access to a new type of money. Previously, this was available only to winners of special lotteries and separately invited users.

Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, Post Office are participating in the pilot programthe Savings Bank of China and the Telecommunications Bank.

Although everyone can apply to the bank with a requestcitizen, but they will not be automatically approved. According to Chinese media, all applications will be reviewed by the central bank of China, and each decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.

After the approval of the application, within 24 hours a newthe user will receive an SMS with instructions for downloading and activating the wallet. When registering, a person will be required to enter his real name and other personal data, as well as the names of the bank employees who registered him.
