SpaceX will launch an Ethereum node into space

SpaceX and SpaceChain will send the first Ethereum node to the International Space Station this month.

Falcon 9 rocketswill deliver equipment for a new experiment to the ISS.

This is the first ever Ethereum integrationin the equipment of the International Space Station, but in the future the company expects to launch a full-fledged satellite network with a high level of security for crypto transactions.

SpaceChain plans to launch two space missions to deploy decentralized satellite infrastructure

The company has previously tested the work of the blockchain inspace by setting up bitcoin nodes and conducting multi-signature transactions. In August last year, the company transferred about 0.0099 BTC via computers installed on the ISS.

Now the mission task – test the operation of Ethereum smart contracts at a distance of 400 kilometers from Earth.
