SEC postponed decision to approve Bitcoin ETF

The Securities and Exchange Commission postponed its decision to approve the VanEck Bitcoin ETF until June.

Typically SECdecides whether bidding should be allowed within 45 days of the application submission. The 45-day window for the VanEck filing ends on May 3, but the SEC has decided to extend that deadline for another 240 days.

The Commission intends to take a closer look at VanEck's application and requires more time.

VanEck has every chance to be the first to launchBitcoin ETF in the USA. A total of 11 applications are awaiting their turn: WisdomTree and Kryptoin, NYDIG, Bitwise, Valkyrie Digital Assets, SkyBridge Capital with First Trust Advisors, Fidelity Investments and Galaxy Digital.

Meanwhile, Canada and Brazil have already launched the first 3iQ CoinShares Bitcoin ETFs.
