SEC Appoints New Cybercrime Head

Kristina Littman has replaced Robert Cohen as head of the Securities and Exchange Commission division.US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for Combating Cybercrime.

Cohen, who investigated several cases withICO and cryptocurrency violations, including prosecuting Kik Interactive for unregistered sale of securities, left the Commission in August. Littman has served as a full-time lawyer at the SEC Power Division in Philadelphia since 2010, and then became a senior lawyer in the Anti-Market Abuse Division.

Littman has served as a senior latelyAdvisor to the SEC Chairman Jay Clayton, who advised on regulatory and policy issues related to cryptocurrencies, trade, markets, and investment management.

“Christina’s innovative approach and extensive experiencemade her an invaluable adviser and, more importantly, a tireless advocate for America's investors. She will be a great leader for the cyber division and will continue to work in this evolving and critical area, ”said Clayton.

It recently became known that the CEOTelegram Pavel Durov and two other employees of the company will testify in December and January in the SEC lawsuit at the request of the court. Let us recall that in October the Commission accused Telegram of illegally conducting an ICO.
