Russia ranks first in cryptocurrency fraud

Russia has become one of the top countries, most of allsuffering from cryptocurrency fraud. Information security provider ESET came to this conclusion, writes TASS. According to the company’s report, every tenth crypto scam from May to August 2021 occurred in Russia.

It is noteworthy that the global trend with delinquencies over the same period decreased by 23.6%. In Russia, however, the level of cybercrimes remains high, experts say.

"Today, every tenth scam with cryptocurrencies occurs in Russia (10% of all detected cases), in second place is Peru (6.8% of the total), in third place in the United States (5.3%)"ESET analysts said in a report.

The main method of fraud, as found in ESET, is still fake sites. Scammers hide behind investment services and lure victims through aggressive marketing.
