According to recent studies, users of smartphones on the Android platform in Russia were the most unprotected in the world from malware.
In a press release from ESET InternationalIt is noted that of all available Android applications in the Russian Federation, 16% pose a serious threat to the device. At the same time, 68% of errors found in 2019 are considered critical, and 29% of them allowed the program to run malicious code.
One type of malicious code that has becomeespecially popular, starting in 2018 - cryptocurrency miners. According to the researchers, the number of such viruses increased by 72% compared to the previous year. In addition, the number of fake cryptocurrency wallets with built-in malicious code has sharply increased in the Google Play store.
In the first half of 2019, ESET telemetryrevealed that Android malware is spread around the world. Moreover, the largest number of malicious programs was detected in Russia (16%), and Iran (15%) and Ukraine (8%) occupied the second and third places in the list.
