Ripple will be compatible with Ethereum

XRP and Ethereum, the two largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, may soon become interconnected andcompatible.

Xpring Investment Unit madesponsor of the recent virtual hackathon Gitcoin. The developers were given various tasks aimed at solving the problem of interaction between both chains of blocks.

On his blog, Warren Paul Anderson, Sr.Ripple's product manager explained that Xpring is aware of the need to create a layer that supports smart contracts for the growing Decentralized Financing (DeFi) sector. This is the main reason why the company is trying to connect the XRP and Ethereum blockchains through the Interledger protocol.

Those developers who can create a systemto connect XRP, ETH and ERC-20, will receive a reward of $ 1,000. Participants will have to complete assignments by February 26, 2020, however, according to Xpring executives, the deadline may be delayed.
