Well-known investor and CEO of Real Vision Raoul Pal said that after the announcement of the cryptocurrencyThe Libra project, the world realized that anyone can launch their digital currency.
In the next issue of the Scoop podcast, Pal noted that the Libra project is important if only because it will inspire other companies and industrial groups to create their own digital currencies.
“Such a digital currency can launch Google. Such a currency may appear in the oil market, or in the private sector. It can be independent currencies like Bitcoin, or corporate currencies. Maybe anything, ”Pal said.
He also noted that although Libra states that it is not going to become a reserve currency, the developers of the project “will set the stage and let the gin out of the bottle”:
“Bitcoin, obviously, was the beginning of all this. But now the Libra guys say they can create currency baskets for transactions and use basic asset management. So, anyone can make their own currency. ”
Libra developers recently updated the White Paperproject, according to which the cost of the base cryptocurrency LBR will be calculated on the basis of four stablecoins tied to the US and Singapore dollars, euros and British pounds.
