Public sale of crypto smartphone Solana Saga will begin in May

Solana presented itsThe Saga cryptocurrency smartphone was released last year, and the start of public sales of the new product is scheduled for May 8. Smartphones for pre-orders have already begun to be sent out.

The smartphone is manufactured by OSOM.It has 512 GB of storage, a 6.67-inch OLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and 12 GB of RAM. There is also a fingerprint sensor and the latest version of Android OS is installed. 

But the main difference from ordinary smartphones isavailability of Solana Mobile Stack. This is a line of proprietary add-ons from Solana developers that allow you to integrate support for cryptocurrencies and use hardware security elements for wallets. This suite also allows developers to quickly and securely store, send and receive digital assets.

Engineers have provided a special chip, which is separated from the rest of the smartphone’s storage and is designed to safely store private keys from the user’s wallet. 

There is also a special “shop” in the applicationdecentralized applications", through which users gain access to various cryptocurrency applications. Now there are about a dozen different DApps that cover various areas of the industry - trading digital assets, storing and exchanging NFTs, listening to music on decentralized platforms, etc.

Last year, HTC released a smartphone with support for non-fungible tokens and the metaverse.
