Pennsylvania to Open America's First Atomic-Powered Bitcoin Mining Center

Cumulus Data, a subsidiary of independent electricity producer Talen Energy, has completed construction of the first US-based Cumulus Susquehanna data center with a promise of zero carbon emissions.

The capacity of the new data center will beover 40 MW, achieved through a direct connection to the Susquehanna nuclear power plant in northeastern Pennsylvania. It is expected that in addition to server equipment for cloud computing, equipment for bitcoin mining will be located on the territory of the data center.

The Cumulus Susquehanna data center was the first in the futurea network of 18 combined Cumulus Data data centers with a planned total capacity of more than 470 MW. The first mining complex in the USA will be deployed on their basis
