PayPal Adds Support for Bitcoin in Mobile App

Payment company PayPal has added the ability to buy, sell and transfer cryptocurrencies via mobileAppendix.

The service supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash. The minimum transaction amount is $1.

Users have access to internal and external transfers, as well as the ability to pay in digital currencies for purchases in «millions» online stores that support PayPal.

The company's app provides access to educational content about cryptocurrencies.

«Keep in mind that we cannot protect youfrom losses resulting from market volatility. Transferring cryptocurrency on a blockchain also comes with risk, and the transaction may be delayed or lost. Make sure to do your research thoroughly to buy and sell correctly,” the company warned customers.

In November 2020, PayPal opened access to cryptocurrencies directly through accounts to users from the United States.

In April 2021, the company added supportbitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash in its Venmo mobile payment service. At the same time, PayPal CEO Dan Shulman noted that the demand for digital assets exceeded expectations.

Recall that in March, the head of PayPal expressed confidence that cryptocurrencies and blockchain would revolutionize the financial system.
