Opinion: Governments will outlaw bitcoin

The American billionaire believes that in the future, central bank digital currencies will likely bePrevail

American billionaire Ray Dalio says governments will outlaw bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

A growing number of Wall Street heavyweights are looking at bitcoin as an asset haven, but the founder and co-chairman of the world's largest hedge fund Bridgewater Associates does not seesense to join them.

In his view, the central bank's digital currencies (CBDC) are much more likely to bedominate the fiscal landscape in the future than bitcoin.

In an interview, he noted that bitcoin and other cryptocurrenciesthere are three key issues that will not allow us to achieve mass success.

He sees one of the obstacles to the success of cryptocurrencies in their uselessness as a means of payment. 

In addition, he believes that BTC and other cryptocurrencies are too volatile to be a viable means of saving.

If bitcoin becomes too popular, Dalio predicts harsh, no-go measures by governments.Digital versions of the dollar, euro and Chinese yuan have more prospects.
