Omni Core has released an update to solve the problem of duplication of transactions

The developers of Omni Core, a portable implementation of the Omni protocol based on the Bitcoin Core codebase, have releasedversion 0.8.0, in which the error of duplication of transactions was fixed.

“An error was discovered that led to the fact that some transactions were conducted twice. We resolved the mistake in this release, ”the project’s official blog post says.

The error appeared in update 0.6.0 back in 2019 and persisted in all subsequent releases. As a result, some transactions were duplicated, which led to incorrect balances on users' wallets.

“During the first system startup afterUpdate 0.8.0 will be a new parsing of all blocks. After that, the wallet balances will be brought into the correct state. The update will delete erroneously accrued tokens and related transactions. The process can take several hours or even a day, ”the developers said.

Omni Core representatives emphasized thattransaction duplication could occur on blocks 619141, 618465, 614732, 599587, 591848, 589999 and 578141. They presented two options for detecting and correcting erroneous transactions for cryptocurrency exchanges, wallet operators and integrators.

At the end of last year, the financing for the development of Omni Core version 0.7.0 was provided by Tether, a company that produces a number of different stablecoins, including USDT.
