New Prime Minister intends to turn the country into a digital platform

The new Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin, whose appointment was signed yesterday, believesThe development of the digital economy is one of the priorities of the new government.

In his new post, Mishustin plans to take overpersonal control of the national project “Digital Economy”. In his opinion, the state should become a digital platform for citizens. This platform should help residents receive administrative services, remove barriers to business, and reduce its costs. 

According to him, many people live in Russiatalented specialists, and the authorities should help them create their projects. Mishustin noted that digital transformation should affect all areas of the economy.  

Back in 2017, while holding the post of head of the taxservice, Mishustin spoke about cryptocurrency as a financial instrument of the future. Last year, the official noted the need for government regulation and taxation of cryptocurrency transactions, similar to the financial sector. He considers ignoring cryptocurrencies unacceptable, since this technology does not stop developing and is used in a huge number of industries.

Recall that the former Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev advocated for the prudent and cautious regulation of cryptocurrency in the country.
