Nasdaq Launches Corda Blockchain Digital Asset Platform

The Nasdaq Stock Exchange has partnered with R3 to launch a digital asset platform onblockchain Corda.

As the head of digitalNasdaq assets Johan Toll, capital market participants can now use Corda to issue, trade, settle and store digital assets.

The Corda blockchain is integrated with the Nasdaq Financial Framework, which is connected to a number of other services in the capital markets, including reconciliation, monitoring, data discovery and reporting mechanisms.

"The relationship with R3 plays an important role in the development of Nasdaq solutions that supportcreating dynamic and trustworthy digital asset markets," Toll said."The Corda R3 platform is designed specifically for highly regulated infrastructures, and it fits well into our technology ecosystem."

In January, it became known that Nasdaq was exploring the possibility of launching bitcoin futures in partnership with an unnamed firm, and last October the exchange added the CIX100 index for 100 cryptocurrencies.

In addition, in September, Nasdaq launched the indexdecentralized finance industry in partnership with the brokerage company EXANTE. The DeFiX Index includes real-time information on several cryptocurrency projects, including Augur, Gnosis, 0x and MakerDAO.

Diginex blockchain company plans to get intoNasdaq listing after merger with 8i Enterprises Acquisition Corp. As company management recently reported, this could happen in the coming months.
