The trustee of the MtGox exchange hacked in 2014, Nobuaki Kobayashi, published a document on preparations for refunding funds to users affected by the hack.
Nobuaki Kobayashi askedusers register on a special page and fill out documents with payment details. He also offered to receive a refund in one payment or several. In addition, users can receive part of the funds in BTC or BCH.
Currently the exact date whenMtGox users will begin to receive refunds, undetermined. However, Kobayashi said that new applications for refunds will be accepted from the end of August until the end of the payment process.
Let us remind you that due to hacking, the MtGox exchangelost about 850,000 BTC, of which 750,000 belonged to clients of the site. Management subsequently reported the “discovery” of 200,000 BTC. It is from these funds that it is planned to compensate losses to users, because since then the Bitcoin rate has increased many times over.
