Momint Tokenizes Unique Collection of South African Krugerrands

South African gold coin exchange The Scoin Shop and Momint have entered into a partnership to create tokens based on an exclusive collection of South African coins.

Rare gold collectible kyugerrands,South African coins Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek (ZAR) will be tokenized and available to potential buyers at a price starting from $200 dollars apiece. The collection will also include the 1892 "red-brown penny", so named because of the unique color that was created due to improper mixing of copper when currency production moved to Pretoria.

The tokenized coins will be minted by technology firm Web3 Momint and will be available for sale on the NFT market.

The full tokenized set includes tendenominations of ZAR coins minted before the Second Boer War in 1899, and is valued at approximately $1.2 million. Token holders, along with the purchase of NFTs, will receive ownership of part of the physical collection, becoming co-owners of it.

According to information provided by Momint, forTo purchase tokenized ZAR coins, buyers will not need experience with cryptocurrency or blockchain. The Momint trading platform will support NFT sales using bank cards, and will also independently create a crypto wallet for each owner.

In June, the government of the Central African Republic (CAR) reported
about the intention to tokenize its natural resources to attract foreign investment and more in-depth use of the blockchain.
