In an interview with reporters, Aksakov touched upon the upcoming changes in the field of cryptocurrency regulation, including mining.

“Since this is a kind of entrepreneurialactivity, obviously, it is necessary to enter it into the register, assign a code to it appropriate as a type of entrepreneurial activity and introduce taxation, ”said the deputy.

Aksakov also stressed that changes inin relation to cryptocurrencies, there will definitely be, since the law on their taxation has already been adopted in the first reading. At the same time, he drew attention to the confusion in terminology, since digital currencies mean not only cryptocurrencies, but also digital currencies of central banks. The distinction between these concepts should be clearly spelled out, he added.

“We still need to discuss the topic ofdigital currency is actually now, although we call it currency, it is rather used as a financial instrument, as a financial asset, which is an object for investment, rather than as a means of payment, ”said Aksakov.
