Mining farms to close in China

Mining farms to close in China

China has moved from announcing strict policies to limit mining to actually implementing them inrelatively short terms.

The authorities begin total inspections of largemining centers with an order to close the facilities. Data centers in the Chinese province of Sichuan received such notifications. This is one of the largest mining hubs in the country, mining cryptocurrency using hydropower.

Yunnan province stopped cryptocurrency mining last month.

The main Bitcoin mining facilities are located infour Chinese provinces: Xinjiang, Sichuan, Inner Mongolia, and Yunnan. Sichuan and Yunnan provided cheap electricity to miners through powerful hydroelectric power. Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia are home to the majority of China's coal-fired power plants. The exodus of miners has already begun from these provinces following the ban on cryptocurrency mining.
