Michael Saylor: Ethereum and any altcoin, unlike Bitcoin, is a security

The CEO of MicroStrategy said that the presence of a cryptocurrency issuer provides an opportunity to change the blockchain, so Ethereum cannotto be considered a commodity, unlike Bitcoin, which cannot be changed.

Michael Saylor, in an interview with Altcoin Daily, stated that Ethereum (ETH) is "obviously a security" as it has doubled in size.Saylor added that bitcoin is the only commodity in the cryptocurrency market.

"I think, and it's pretty obvious, that ether is a security.Ethereum was released during the ICO by a team of managers, there are constant hard forks and a difficulty bomb that is constantly pushed back," the crypto investor listed.

The head of MicroStrategy explained that the constant need for software updates, the manageability of a development team or a blockchain organization, saysAs an example, the businessman pointed to the design of a long-delay difficulty bomb that he said would kill the entire ETH mining industry.

According to Saylor, in order for a digital asset to be classified as a commodity, it must be backed by "a fully decentralized protocol where no one canto change it, even if he wants to":

"For an asset to be a commodity, it must not have issuers that canI mean, one of the fundamental discoveries in the crypto industry is that being able to change an asset makeshis security."

Saylor stated that bitcoin is a commodity because its blockchain cannotcan be changed, as well as, for example, the physical composition of gold:

"If a company wants to create cryptocurrency as a digital commodity, it has to create something like gold in cyberspace."

The CEO of MicroStrategy is confident that all blockchains based on the Proof-of-Stake algorithm are securities, and everything as an objectFor example, regulators at any timeThey can ban the use of altcoins.
