Mercedes Benz will create a platform based on the Polygon blockchain for data trading

Car Concert Daimler South East Asia, part of the Mercedes Benz Group, is building the Acentrik platform based on the Polygon blockchain.

Daimler South East Asia management said:that the new platform will allow organizations to buy and sell data in a decentralized environment. Although Acentrik is being developed by an automotive corporation, the platform will be used to trade data from a wide range of industries, including insurance and clinical trials. Unlike many decentralized platforms, data on Acentrik will not be stored on the blockchain. This function will be performed by non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which will store a specific set of metadata.

Buying and selling information will becarried out through Polygon and the Ethereum test network Rinkeby. Stablecoins will be used to make payments. But since transactions will be carried out on the Polygon blockchain, users will have to pay fees using the MATIC crypto asset. After making payment, users will be able to access data in the decentralized peer-to-peer storage InterPlanetary File System (IPFS).

Polygon co-founder Sandeep NailwalNailwal) was glad that Mercedes Benz is another brand that began to use the Polygon blockchain. Against the background of this news, the MATIC rate jumped to $0.99.

The automobile concern Daimler AG began to developblockchain a few years ago. In 2020, together with Singapore-based Ocean Protocol, Daimler began testing a blockchain-based platform for exchanging financial information with international production centers.
