Meeting at the Ministry of Finance on the regulation of cryptocurrencies in the Russian Federation postponed

Scheduled for September 18 meeting on the regulation of cryptocurrencies in the Russian Federation with the participation of the Minister Finance Anton Siluanov did not take place. A new meeting date has not yet been determined. About this writes TASS with reference to the message of the head of the State Duma Committee on the financial market Anatoly Aksakov.

“Yesterday, the schedule did not allow a meeting, notbecause there are irreconcilable differences. They are irreconcilable, yes. But for this meeting is also going. There is a position that the Bank of Russia takes firmly, there is a position that other government officials take quite firmly, ”he said.

It was assumed that the meeting would consider the issue of legalization or a complete ban on the circulation of cryptocurrencies.

Anatoly Aksakov noted that he supportsCB position: “And I would consider it right to go like this, work on the position that the Central Bank is promoting, work it out, gain experience, not slow down this process, it was slowed down because of this. And after we have gained experience, it will be easier for us to make a decision whether to go on open platforms or not. ”

Recall, earlier, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev ordered the adoption of the draft law “On Digital Financial Assets” in the autumn session.
