McDonald's French branch to play NFT on social media

A total of 20 tokens will be issued with animated images of the fast food chain's dishes.

French branch of the fast food chainMcDonald’s food has created a series of NFT tokens tied to animated images of their meals. On Twitter, the company introduced four types of non-interchangeable tokens: Chicken McNuggets, Big Macs, McSunday ice cream, and French fries.

According to La Réclame, there will be a total of 20tokens: five copies of each type. NFTs will appear on the OpenSea site, but they will not be available for purchase. McDonald’s will play them off on their social media. The contests will take place on Instagram and Twitter in two stages: from 9 to 13 April and from 14 to 18 April.

Own NFT tokens last monthpresented by the Russian mixed martial arts fighter and ex-UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. They will be tied to the cards that the fighter has timed to end his career. In total, three types of cards will be issued: gold, platinum and diamond.

In March, NFT sales reached a record high of$ 200 million. This amount is more than the sales of non-fungible tokens for the entire 2020. However, in early April, the NFT market began to decline, and the average cost of one token fell to $ 1.4 thousand, although a month earlier it was $ 3.6 thousand, and in February it reached $ 4.3 thousand.
