Mark Zuckerberg opens a virtual clothing store for the metaverse

CEO of Meta(formerly Facebook) announced the launch of a digital clothing store, the Meta Avatars Store, which will allow you to purchase clothing from various brands for avatars in the metaverse.

In the store for Meta there will be
brands such as Prada, Balenciaga and Thom Browne are represented. They should be available for avatars on Instagram, Facebook and Messenger. Prices for the clothing items have not been disclosed.

Meta is confident that the metaverse industry isin the coming years, it will grow so much that the need for digital clothing items and other attributes will become an integral part of everyday life. Therefore, at the beginning of this year, the company focused its attention on its own metaverse, announced back in 2021.

“Digital goods will become an important wayself-expression in metaverses and a big driver of the creative economy. We're excited to diversify our offerings with new brands and bring it all to VR,” says Zuckerberg.

In April, the company announced that it planslaunch your own cryptocurrency within the metaverse. Meta is exploring the possibility of centrally controlled tokens that it will use within its applications, similar to what is currently happening with in-game currencies.

When talking about VR, Zuckerberg meansflagship application Meta Horizon Worlds, which is available only to owners of the Oculus Quest line of VR headsets. It's likely that platform users will be able to wear new digital items in Horizon Worlds.

Zuckerberg previously announced thatMeta&nbsp;begins&nbsp;testing support for digital collectibles in the form of NFTs on Instagram. According to Zuckerberg, this will be the first step towards introducing collectible tokens into the Meta ecosystem.
