Mark Zuckerberg calls for regulation of the crypto industry

On January 9, the CEO of Facebook posted a post on his page in which he described the main areasdigital technology for the next decade.

In his post, Zuckerberg highlighted 5 important events:that will happen in the new decade – “a change of generations, the creation of a new private social platform, widespread decentralization, the integration of new innovative technology, the emergence of new forms of community management.”

Zuckerberg says digital communities shouldhave a system of self-government that would be supported by government regulations. Adequate and up-to-date legislation can provide security and protection to a greater extent than centralized management of personal data and information.

The head of Facebook also wrote that the company is working on a project that will make innovative payment solutions available to everyone – from large businesses to small entrepreneurs.

In his opinion, the crypto space is experiencingproblems due to lack of regulation. This leaves large companies juggling between freedom of speech and security, privacy and law enforcement. However, he writes that privacy-focused ecosystems do not need legal regulation. An alternative management option for such networks may be self-regulation.
