Marathon to Place 200MW Mining Equipment in Texas and North Dakota

Mining company MarathonDigital announced that it has signed a deal with hosting service provider Applied Blockchain, which will include 200 MW of equipment.

Marathon Digital will employ about 66000 previously purchased ASIC miners, the total hashrate of which will be 9.2. Eh/s. The devices will be located in Applied Blockchain data centers in Texas and North Dakota. Devices with a total capacity of 90 MW will go to Texas, and equipment with a total capacity of 110 MW will be placed in North Dakota. At the same time, Marathon has already concluded agreements for the placement of equipment for 54 MW.

“We believe that we have provided ourselves with the necessarypower to achieve 23.3 Eh/s. However, the equipment necessary for such indicators will not be delivered until next year,” said Marathon Chairman and CEO Fred Thiel.

It is worth noting that Applied data centersBlockchain is still under construction. It is planned to begin deploying mining equipment in the fourth quarter of this year, and the data centers will be fully operational only in the middle of next year.

“The demand for our hosting services remainsquite large, despite the volatility in the cryptocurrency markets. This tells us how strong our business is for next year and beyond,” said Applied Blockchain Chairman and CEO Wes Cummins.
