Lviv railway workers mined cryptocurrency at their workplace

Employees of the Ukrainian Railway were caught red-handed illegally mining Bitcoin, whichcost the state more than 40,000 US dollars.

In accordance with the statement of Ukrzaliznytsia –state rail transport provider – The security service together with law enforcement officers discovered the mining farm during an inspection of the premises of the Lviv branch. More than one hundred computers generated bitcoins at taxpayers' expense. 

In its notice, Ukrzaliznytsia states thatThe mining farm was "organized by officials of the Lviv railway section." The estimated amount of losses since the beginning of the year is 1 million UAH. The evidence collected was transferred to the Ternopil Department of the National Police.

Illegal mining has recently deliveredtroubles Ukrainian cyber police. In August, cryptocurrency mining at the expense of the state was discovered in the administrative building of the South Ukrainian NPP. Earlier, the use of mining server hardware of the judicial administration of Ukraine was disclosed.
