Lawyer: Craig Wright has not yet received access to bitcoins for $ 9 billion

Craig Wright's lawyer confirmed that the entrepreneur does not own the private keys that give access to 1.1million bitcoins mined in the early years of the cryptocurrency, Decrypt reports.

On Tuesday, January 14, Wright notified the court that he had received information that would unlock access to wallets from 1.1 million BTC (more than $ 9 billion at the current price).

However, the family of his late business partner Dave Kleiman stated that Wright only handed over to the court a list of 16,404 bitcoin addresses allegedly belonging to him.

Partner at Rivero Mestre Law Firm AndresRivero confirmed that the file that the Australian entrepreneur received did not have private keys. Wright is still expecting to receive them later, he added.

Rivero said that the keys can be either whole or divided into parts. The lawyer refused to discuss the details of who the information is now and when it will appear.

Craig Wright presented to court in late Decemberan email according to which he was to receive private keys on January 1, 2020. He later doubted that the information might be at his disposal.

Recall, in August last year, the court ruledcollect from Wright half of 1.1 million BTC, the appropriation of which he is accused of by the Kleiman family. In January, Florida District Court judge Beth Bloom invalidated the decision.
