Kraken users blocked over 500,000 ETH for staking

Interest in Ethereum staking among Kraken users is growing, which confirmsLatest stats.

Yesterday's Krakenreleased an official statement stating:

We are pleased to announce that over 500,000 ETH has already been locked on our platform for staking purposes. The Ethereum community continues to support the long-awaited transition to proof of stake.

Members can directly block funds on the Ethereum 2.0 network, however, this requires at least 32 ETH. On Kraken, the minimum staking threshold is 0.00001 or less than 2 cents.

Recall that Ethereum developers are proposing to speed up the transition from PoW to PoS amid a miners' strike.Vitalik Buterin recently published his own proposal for a quick merge of the current blockchain with the Beacon Chain.
