Jetpack pilot set a new altitude record, soaring 1.8 km

Using a suit with wings and a jet engine, Vince Reffet took off at a height of 1800 meters and landed successfully.

The flight of Yves Rossi's protégé, in addition to the ascent, includeda series of maneuvers, turns and hovering. Taking off from the Skydive runway in Dubai, Vince Reffet soared to an altitude of 1.8 km in just 30 seconds, averaging about 215 km/h. After achieving his goal, he used a parachute to land, on which he descended for about three minutes.

Before setting a new record, the pilot flew more than 50preparatory flights and worked about 100 different take-off and landing options to make sure the reliability of the security system.

According to the Jetman engineering team, in the future they plan to make safe landing without a parachute possible, but it will take a lot of effort and time.

The achievement of a new record was facilitated by recentmodernization of the suit by Yves Rossi, including an autonomous take-off and landing system that allows you to rise vertically from the ground and more powerful jet engines.
