Irkutsk miner was accused of stealing electricity for 1.6 million rubles

A criminal case was opened andwas investigated in accordance with paragraph “b” of Part 2 of Article 165 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Causing property damage by deception or abuse of trust on an especially large scale.” The case materials, along with the indictment, were sent to the Sverdlovsk District Court. It is noted that this is the first such trial in the Irkutsk region.

It is reported that the entrepreneur is completelyadmitted his guilt and compensated the damage caused to the electricity supplier. The accused faces up to two years in prison, or a fine of up to 80,000 rubles, or forced labor for up to five years.

Recently, mining equipment worth 63 million rubles was stolen in Khakassia, and three employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are considered suspects.
