Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called on Islamic countries to create a digital currency that would speak in as an alternative to the US dollar and would help cope with “American hegemony”.
According to the report, the Iranian president proposed creating a unified banking and financial system for Islamic states, on the basis of which a cryptocurrency would be developed.
According to Rouhani, the US “bully” other countrieseconomic sanctions. Indeed, at the moment, Iran is faced with numerous problems caused by economic, military and scientific sanctions.
According to Zycrypto, the president’s initiative was supported by Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. He said:
We see this for the first time - Iran and Turkey agree that we should use a single alternative to the US dollar. We can use our own currencies, while having a common currency.
Recall that recently the Iranian government legalized the activities of crypto miners in the country.
