The organizers of a mining hotel in the Irkutsk region lured customers with favorable prices for renting space and electricity, and then disappeared with their equipment for a total of 100 million rubles.

Some time after the miners placed their equipment, the organizers of the mining hotel disappeared, stopping payments and not returning the expensive equipment to customers.According to a source in law enforcement agencies, about 100 people suffered from the actions of fraudsters.Each of them placed mining farms in the amount of 1 million rubles or more.

Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Irkutskregion reported that a criminal case under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud on an especially large scale.” During the investigation, computer equipment and documentation were seized from the office.

This is likely due to the popularity of mining in the area. However, against this background, the number of crimes is also growing. In 2021, five residents of Usolye-Sibirskoye were detained in the Irkutsk region for stealing mining equipment worth 2 million rubles.
