The Foundation also awarded a grant to Chris Belcher – to an English developer who is working on the CoinSwap transaction anonymization tool. According to the announcement, the foundation will soon issue a second grant.
HRF is also planning a crowdfundingcampaign. 95% of the funds raised will go to sponsor the work of the developers, and the remaining 5% will be used to support the work of the Human Rights Foundation.
The CEO of the organization, Alex Gladstein, said:
Journalists and human rights advocates around the worldare increasingly facing financial repression – their accounts are frozen, their transactions are heavily monitored, and it is much more difficult for them to receive donations. Bitcoin and other privacy-focused projects can be powerful tools to support their continued work.
