Hackers sell personal data to over 200,000 cryptocurrency holders

According to cybersecurity company Under The Breach, hackers are offering data for sale.users of hardware wallets and crypto exchanges.

The hacker allegedly behind the cyberattack on Ethereum.org is now selling the data of cryptocurrency wallet users – Keepkey, Trezor, Ledger and Bnktothefuture investment platform.

The hacker has three large databases. The databases contain the client's email address, name, phone number, residential address and other data. 

According to monitoring and prevention servicehacking data, customer information was obtained through a vulnerability on the Shopify platform on which these crypto wallets were ordered. In addition, there are suspicions that the hacker has 18 more databases of users of cryptocurrency exchanges. In total, we can talk about confidential information of more than 200,000 users.

Candice So, Communications Manager at Shopify stated: 

We examined these statements and did not find any evidence to support them or any hack into Shopify systems.

The database with Ledger and Trezor does not contain passwords,and user information Blockcypher, Nimirum and Plutus are sold with passwords for full access to your account. How this data got to the hacker is unknown.

Ledger representatives have already said that the hackerthe database has nothing to do with their customers, but the company began checking on this fact. Trezor also hastened to refute the possibility of data leakage, noting that it does not cooperate with the Shopify Internet platform.

Recall that at one of the forums on the darknet, a complete database of Russian car owners was recently posted for sale.
