Hackers Hacked Robinhood Social Media to Promote Scam Token

Robinhood's Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts were hacked to promote information about a fake $RBH token previously launched on Binance Smart Chain.

The hacker used unauthorized access toRobinhood accounts to promote the $RBH token offering to over a million subscribers. Robinhood confirmed the incident, adding that posts on all of its social media accounts were promptly deleted.

"We are aware of unauthorizedposts on Robinhood's Twitter, Instagram and Facebook profiles. They were removed some time after publication. Based on our ongoing investigation, we believe the source of the incident was a third-party fraudster,” Robinhood said on its official page.

Analytics published by popularInternet sleuth ZackXBT at the address associated with the $RBH token shows that scammers were able to obtain 27 BNB tokens worth approximately $8,200. ZackXBT noted that the wallet was listed on the Binance exchange.

In a response message, Binance security notified the community that the compromised account had been blocked and was ready to investigate the fraud.

Robinhood previously announced that it would no longer support Bitcoin SV as of January 25th. This decision was made after another assessment of the crypto assets offered to users on the online platform.
