Hacker Hacked Korean NFT Artist's Twitter Account

Korean NFT artist DeeKay Kwon's Twitter account was hacked and used in a phishing attack. As a result, more than $150,000 worth of NFTs were stolen from his subscribers.

Hacker posted on behalf of DeeKay Kwona malicious link to a phishing website that asked users to approve a transaction, supposedly to gain access to an exclusive collectible token (NFT) giveaway.

“LetsWalk Collection Giveaway Now Available! Only 1,000 lucky winners can qualify! Good luck!” the hacker wrote.

After the victims have approved the transaction,the hacker emptied their wallets, stealing about $150,000 worth of NFTs. About five hours after the attack began, DeeKay Kwon was able to resume control of his account, removed the link to the phishing site, and apologized for this unfortunate event.

During this time, according to observer Zerion,the attacker managed to sell NFTs worth about $90,000 and transfer the tokens in ETH to another wallet. Some of the stolen NFTs, worth approximately $52,000, remained in the wallet used by the hacker in the attack.

At the beginning of the week, the Uniswap v3 protocol encountered a phishing attack. As a result of theft of personal data of users of cryptocurrency wallets, the hacker was able to steal ETH worth $4.7 million.
