Gram release may be delayed for half a year

Telegram is seriously considering temporarily abandoning its plans to issue the Gram token due to problemswith the SEC.

The launch of the TON platform is under threat due to an injunction against the sale and distribution of the Gram token in the United States by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Even though the company is not based in the U.S., according to SEC data, the company sold approximately 2.9 billion Gram tokens to a total of 171 investors, with about 1 billion of them bought by investors in the U.S.

The next hearing on the SEC's lawsuit against Telegram is scheduled for October 24 in the Southern District Court of New York.Until this date, Telegram is not going to make official statements.Among the options is an attempt to negotiate with the SEC and smooth out the situation. This will most likely mean that Pavel Durov's company will have to pay fines for its mistake, as well as, as speculated, lawyers, postpone the issue of the coin for a period of 6 months to 1 year.

If this happens, investors will be very disappointed. In the user agreement for the purchase of Gram, the interference of the authorities in the development of the project is classified as "force majeure".Such a situation frees the creators of the cryptocurrency from the need to return money to investors. This means that while the trial is ongoing, U.S. investors will not receiveNo money, no tokens.
