State digital currencies – a threat to private banks?

I heard this version and thought about it. If the Central Bank issues and fully controls digital money, then why do we need other banks? They don't produce anything, they just drive back and forth for a small fraction. In theory, the powerful infrastructure of central banks can do it all on its own. And give loans. and payments can be made, and savings can be stored by the structure of the Central Bank no worse than Sberbank. In the future, of course.
As I understand it, digital money will work offline, which makes it more convenient than non-cash payment, and this is another minus for banksters.
In general, an interesting thing is digital money. You can't get away from taxes with them))))
