One of the largest US banks, Goldman Sachs, issued a request for information (RFI) in order toexplore cryptocurrency storage solutions.
An anonymous source from Goldman said the bank is going to "announce" a new service soon. He said:
Like JPMorgan, we have released an RFI aimed at holding cryptocurrencies. We are studying the issue and planning further actions.
According to him, the bank's initiative is part of“Broad digital strategy”. He also referred to the recent OCC decision to allow banks to issue their own stable currencies and conduct transactions in stablecoins.
There are rumors that Goldman is planning to launch its own cryptocurrency trading platform. However, a bank spokesman denied this information, stating:
Anchorage, BitGo, and Coinbase have big plans for cryptocurrency. We will not duplicate them.
